“And the world came together as the people stayed apart” – Jennifer Wagner
It was over two weeks ago now that we packed up our things, locked the office door and headed home to work, to do our part to help #stopthespread and #flattenthecurve in the war against COVID-19.
Heading into our third week of working from home, we’re all getting in the swing of things. We’ve got our workspaces set up (some with impressive garden views!), we check in with the team twice daily via Microsoft Teams and continue to run our projects and liaise with our clients as usual, just all via phone or video calls.
Despite the challenges of slow internet, the increase in screen time required to connect to people all day long, the challenge of home-schooling while working and missing our teammates, there are lots of positives too. We’re celebrating the small wins, like slower mornings without a commute, the relaxed work attire, saving money on eating out at lunchtime, spending more time with our families and having the flexibility to work from the garden if we choose. Working in nature is a nice change from the busy traffic and tooting horns of our office.
